We’re proud to call Tamborine Mountain our home.
About us
At Mason Winery, we’re proud to call Tamborine Mountain in the Gold Coast Hinterland our home. Nestled in the heart of the Scenic Rim, we’re surrounded by some of Queensland’s finest local produce — from fresh vegetables and award-winning meats to artisanal cheeses — many sourced right from our own backyard.
Our team is passionate about celebrating the best of what’s local, with an unwavering commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients. At Mason Winery, we don’t just source locally; we also grow our own produce in our on-site vegetable garden, ensuring that every dish on our Scenic Rim-inspired menu reflects the care and quality of the region.
Supporting local farmers, small producers, and suppliers is at the core of our ethos. It’s this connection to the land and the people who cultivate it that makes dining at Mason Winery a uniquely authentic experience.
Come and share in our love for fresh, local flavours — straight from the farm to your plate.
Our Vineyard
The Granite Belt, located 3.5 hours southwest of Tamborine Mountain near the Queensland-New South Wales border, is where we grow and source the grapes for our wines. This renowned wine region, with its cool climate and rich soils, is ideal for cultivating premium varieties such as Verdelho, Merlot, Cabernet, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, and Petit Verdot.
While much of our vineyard spans 40 acres of carefully tended vines, the challenges of recent years — including drought, bushfires, and hailstorms — have sometimes impacted local harvests. To ensure a consistent supply of exceptional wines, we also collaborate with trusted growers in the region. This allows us to maintain our commitment to quality and to showcase the unique flavours and character of this iconic wine-producing area in every bottle.
Our Garden
In 2020, we embarked on an exciting journey to grow our own vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers right here on the Mason Winery property. What started as a small project has blossomed into a thriving garden that produces a variety of fresh, seasonal ingredients. Currently, we cultivate chives, coriander, mint, nasturtium flowers, snow peas, green beans, dill, chilies, and much more, with plans to expand and diversify our garden in the years ahead.
Our garden is more than just a source of ingredients — it’s an integral part of our commitment to sustainability and our passion for showcasing the flavors of the Scenic Rim. The bounty of our garden directly inspires our seasonal menu, which evolves based on what’s thriving in our soil and what we can source from our trusted local suppliers. This ensures that every dish we serve is fresh, vibrant, and deeply connected to the region.
By growing our own produce and working closely with local farmers and producers, we aim to create a dining experience that celebrates the land and the people who cultivate it.
